my old Escort RS2000 Custom
This was my second RS, the first was also an RS2000 MK2, but an early "pre custom" model, registered in 1976 (MKW 440P) and was finished in Carnival Red. It was stolen 6 month's after I brought it from outside my house on September 2nd 1989, never to be seen again.
MGN 219V was MKW's replacement which I brought in February 1990. It was a 1979 Custom model, finished in special order Black with Biscuit (Beige) Fishnet Recaro interior. When I brought it it already had a 2.1 pinto with twin 45 Delorto carbs and a Kent fast road cam.

I further enhanced the car by fitting Bilstein lowered suspension, after this track day at Llandow in Wales showed the std stuff was well shot.
My second track day was at Castle Coombe, near Chippenham in 1990. Myself and mate Mike Francis in his newly acquired Escort S1 Turbo blasted round the track. I was infact black flagged because my exhaust was too loud, a quick pit stop and an exhaust swop with the one on Daryl's RS2000, and I was away again. I had this RS2000 for 2 years when it also went without my permission!!

My mint RS1600i.
Now after a break from RS's for a few years, I brought this Escort RS1600i from a mate called Stuart West. Stu had totally restored the car over a number of years, and after he had finished it, he decided to sell it. Well what an opportunity as this car was mint and only had 49k on the clock. It was then mine.
AEF 120Y was non custom early RS1600i registered in 1983. Stu had replaced a lot of panels with genuine Ford items and has also upgraded it with Koni suspension, Kent Cam, Tarox brakes and Yoki AVS tyres. It handled like it was on rails.

I had this RS for approx a year when I sold it to a nipper who said he wanted to garage it until he could afford the insurance!! But he drove it and managed to put it into a wall and wrote the thing off, uninsured. That was the end of that.

I then took a break from RS's and delved in to the realms of Turbo power.......
