August 22nd to 25th 2002 Rallye Deutschland, first time as a WRC Event.

Flying the flag for Great Britain...

3 men in an Alfa! (Troll's trip to Rallye Deutschland 2002)

Lo it came to pass, the inaugural trip of the Troll trio (John Chillingworth, Mark Cooke and myself, Ian Grainger) to the ADAC Rallye Deutschland was go! This was the first time that the FIA WRC (World Rally Championship) had held an event in Germany, which was only a European round for 2001. The 2001 event featured several of the works team's drivers in preparation for 2002. Phillipe Bugalski in a Citroen won, but Francois Delecour (Ford), Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot) and Armin Shwartz (Skoda) also took part. All the list 'A' drivers, completed the reconnaissance in 2001. We decided way back at the start of 2002 that we should go to a European round of the WRC and all agreed that Germany was the ideal candidate. Preparations and bookings were made and the rest, as they say, is history, read on and look at the 160 odd pictures!--
