My current RS2000 (SKK 663W) 1980 (click for pics)

I now own a genuine Escort RS2000 MK2 X-Pack, it was originally a German LHD RS, that was imported into the UK in 1986. It is believed to of been purchased new directly from Zakspeed by a British soldier serving in German. The RS2000 was originally Roman Bronze (same as the Hendy Ford 11 RS2000), this can be confirmed by the logbook, and the paint I have found lurking under the black on the shell.

The RS is currently being fully restored as it needed a new O/S sill, which means the X-Pack kit had to come off.. following a full strip ofthe shell it was found it also needed the following repairs; both boot wells, O/S sills, pair front wings, lower rear valance, front panel, A panels repairs both sides. Also where the cage had been bolted in it had rusted slightly on the drivers floor pan, rather than repair a new floor pan was fitted. Also the strut tops will be enlarged to take roller top mounts, plus the holes from the RHD conversion will be weleded up.

Spec of this RS2000 Spezial.

Ford Escort RS2000 MK2 (1978-T).

I bought this on Feb 15th 2003, it is a 1978 pre Custom model finished in Venetian Red. It is fairly standard apart from an unleaded head, 5 speed gearbox, Bilstein lowered suspension, quickrack , single leafs and an Ashley exhaust. The seats will be replaced with the original Recaro Fishnets and the mirrors sprayed black, and who knows maybe some more mods over the winter......

Car now sold in 2005.

BEH 654T in the New Forest.

April 2003

Brought some black Fishnet Recaro's, back seat, carpet and steering Wheel for £80 from a guy in High wycombe. drivers seat was well worn, so Lisa recovered it by using the materal from my old back seat, looks pukka too. The above pictures were taken on a nice sunny day in the New Forest, car looks orange but I think that is my camera not liking the bright sun ! In a few weeks we are off to Belgium in BEH 654T with Classic Ford magazine and 70 off other classic Fords in a gently drive through some great roads in Belgium. Report and pics here when we return !

Well we survived the Belgium trip, only a leaky rear g/box oil seal was the problem so we had to keep topping it up. what a great trip, some very nice countryside and views to see, and we met some nice people too. Definately up for that again next year. I will include some pics here soon... honest.

since then BEH has been to a few shows, these include West Wales RSOC, Ford Fair, Trax, National Day and Beaulieu. It is always good to see some old skool RS's at these shows, and BEH does get quite a bit of attention and pics taken of him.
